When you want to rename a couple of files, you can and you should do it on your own. But when you have to rename dozens or hundreds of files, you should turn to specialized software for help. Such a specialized tool is JFRenamer – a Java based file renamer offered for the great price of free. It will quickly rename the files you choose based on the rule(s) you specify.

Since it is based on Java, JFRenamer works on all the platforms that Java supports. Of course, you need to have Java on your computer for the application to work. To install JFRenamer on a Windows PC you must download an executable, run it, and then click through the instructions presented by a setup wizard.

The panel in the upper left hand side allows you to browse your computer and select the files you want to rename; it also allows you to choose and add a renaming rule. Down at the bottom on the application’s interface there’s the History and Cons:
None that I could think of.

Pros

JFRenamer is based on Java and consequently, it works on multiple platforms. You will quickly figure out the application's interface. Using the application to batch rename files is a simple process. JFRenamer is free. Multilanguage support.

Cons

ole panel. You will have no problems using the interface to access the application’s file renaming capabilities. Using JFRenamer is a simple three-step process: Step 1 – select the files you want to rename. Step 2 – add the rule or rules you want to use in order to rename the files. Step 3 – launch the renaming process. Using JFRenamer to rename lots of files is a very simple matter. So go get JFRenamer if you want an efficient, free application to help you batch rename files.
